The Truth
Mid Ohio Waterfowl Rescue, located in Richland county, Ohio, is a nonprofit animal rescue organization ran by a woman named Lisa Montgomery. Supposedly, the organization’s mission is to rescue and rehabilitate domestic waterfowl, starlings, pigeons, and sparrows.

While we have no doubt that the organization was founded with the best of intentions, over the years it has devolved into what now can only be described as a hoarding situation. At any given time, hundreds upon hundreds of birds of various species call Mid Ohio Waterfowl Rescue their home. Many do not have adequate shelter, they are not fed regularly, are not given appropriate medical care, and are forced to live in disgusting, unsanitary conditions.
When the birds inevitably die due to the neglect they suffer at Lisa’s hands, they are unceremoniously tossed into body piles and left to rot until their corpses can be thrown into the garbage. This is not rescue!
The goal of this page is to reveal what is truly happening to the animals at Mid Ohio Waterfowl “Rescue”. We are on the side of the animals, and we hope that by telling their stories we can prevent more birds from suffering needlessly at Lisa’s hands.
